NPM Capital expands its stake in Royaan from 52% to 94%

NPM Capital has expanded its stake in Royaan from 52% to 94% by acquiring shares from other shareholders. Royaan is active in the production and sale of frozen snacks both under private label and through its own brands. The company is well-known for its brands Van Dobben, Kwekkeboom, Buitenhuis Minisnacks and KB De Soufflé Specialist.

Royaan is a strong and healthy food company that is virtually unaffected by the recession thanks to its strong brands. Van Dobben, for example, has in the past year succeeded in realising 18% growth in the retail channel in a market that is growing only slightly. The brand has also achieved considerable growth in the out-of-home channel. The company forecasts continued growth in sales in both the retail and out-of-home markets in the years ahead.

Royaan’s head office is in Wijk bij Duurstede and its production sites are located in Oostzaan and Wijk bij Duurstede. The company has approximately 250 employees.

The expansion of the stake in Royaan fits in well with the investment strategy of NPM Capital. This strategy is focused on acquiring substantial stakes in medium-sized companies in the Benelux, preferably companies that are led by professional and enterprising management.
